ADIRONDACKS, NY/JERSEY CITY, NJ.
Riding into the sunset as we wrap up our 4th of July weekend.
I don’t have many photos from this trip, I was soaking in the experience as much as possible and having a great time.
Visited a few favorites upstate: Lake George and her neighbors Warrensburg, Bolton Landing and Saratoga Springs; plus, ventured out to the ever-serene Auriesville. These are definitely places I recommend if you’re looking for day- or overnight trip ideas (about 3-5 hour drives) from Jersey City.
And, if you’re planning to spend a few days in the region, I suggest making Lake George or Bolton your “base” and then devoting a day each to exploring one nearby town. Some ideas...
Saratoga Springs has large, beautiful historic parks, the famous horse races (Saratoga Race Track Opening Day is this Thursday, the 11th), and gorgeous homes lining Broadway towards Skidmore College.
You can park your car along Bolton Landing’s main strip and stroll along the row of restaurants there then park outside the historic Sagamore and stroll around the hotel grounds. Or, rent a kayak, SUP, or boat and take to the water.
Cruise around quiet Warrensburg and then check out Gore Mtn.
Plus, you can explore further and visit the beautiful Lake Placid or Burlington, Vermont, both of which are pleasant, breezy drives (and an auto-ferry ride, in VT’s case) along country roads.
Be warned — cell phone signal is spotty (and at times entirely non-existent) around all these places but just look up, enjoy the views, fresh air, and experiences and you likely will forget about your phone.
Hope this helps and that everyone’s had a safe, happy 4th of July weekend💥✨🇺🇸
