The talented @primehunterdesigns and I sat down and planned this one together💕. In Middle Eastern and North African cultures, women are forbidden to ride bikes and horses because they fear the women will lose their virginity. Obviously this is false. There is no logic in this reasoning.. It's just another way to prevent women from getting around and being independent. This is why in countries like Saudi, women are not allowed to drive. So, we decided to make fun of this idea..😋 #middleeasternwomen #arabwomen #northafrican #northafrica #easternculture #eastern #arabamerican #arabamerican

My first day in Morocco was filled with intense sensory stimulation as I navigated chaotic streets, tasted heavily spiced dishes and marveled at the world’s third largest mosque. This is a place unlike any other, and one tagine justified the 24 hour journey. . . . . #morocco #moroccotravel #casablanca #hassaniimosque #mosque #africa #northafrica #travelafrica #moroccofood #tagine #color #travel #sheisnotlost #soloexplorer #sheexplores #exploreeverything #solotravel #soloadventures #lifewelltraveled #letsgowonder #adventureisoutthere #passionpassport #travelawesome #wanderlust #travelgram #mytinyatlas

One of the best things about traveling is experiencing different cultures, people, foods, beliefs, etc. Morocco is predominately muslim. It was my first time visiting a country like this, and was in awe how things were so different from how we do them in the west. It was interesting seeing how alcohol wasn’t served anywhere, how there were cafes filled with exclusively men and no women. The man giving us a tour of the old Medina at some point stopped by this masque and at a certain time, he paused his speech, removed his cap, and gestured in silence towards the mosque. As he did that another man, set his slippers at the entrance and went into a room to wash his feet before proceeding inside. He later explained to us that they prayed six times throughout the day no matter where they were, they stop and pray. The next day at five in the morning i heard the call for prayer coming out of the loudspeakers from the mosque echoing throughout the city. #Tangier #Morocco #Africa #NorthAfrica #Tanger #Mosque #Muslim #Travel #Adventure

"The rock art of south Oran, are prehistoric engravings dating from the Neolithic period, which are found in the south of Oran Province, Algeria, in the Saharan Atlas Mountains, in the regions (from west to east) of Figuig, Ain Sefra, El-Bayadh, Aflou and Tiaret. [...] Although in the past some archaeologists affirmed that these engravings derived from European Upper Paleolithic art, this theory is today definitively rejected. Less famous than the rock art at the Tassili n'Ajjer site, the South Oran engravings have however been the subject of study since 1863. [...] In 1955 and 1964 Henri Lhote had visits of several months to the region which allowed him to complete his former researches, to add hundreds of new descriptions and in 1970 to publish Les gravures rupestres du Sud-oranaisin the series Mémoires du Centre de recherches anthropologiques préhistoriques et ethnographiques (CRAPE) directed at Algiersby Mouloud Mammeri. [...]For Henri Lhote the South Oran region constitutes one of the "three great centres of art of the antelope age" with Tassili ("Oued Djèrat") and Fezzan. In this work Lhote tells that a hearth found at the "Station of Méandre", near to Brézina, had been dated to 3900 years B.C., without this figure being capable of "being attributed to a definite category of the engravings which ornament the 'walls' of the station." The oldest of these engravings, on the other hand, show many affinities with those of Tassili which he proposes the minimum date of around 5000. There is therefore room, according to him, to "adopt it also for the South-Oranian material until better information may be forthcoming." . If you like adventure, you should check out the Iron Ore Train in Mauritania.  It is considered the longest train in the world, over 2.5 km.  It carries iron ore from the center of the country to a port on the Atlantic Ocean.  It is dirty and sandy, cold at night, and hot during the day.  But it is an amazing way to admire the desert. . . . . . Mauritania officially the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, is a country in Northwest Africa. It is the eleventh largest sovereign state in Africa and is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the west, Western Sahara to the north and northwest, Algeria to the northeast, Mali to the east and southeast, and Senegal to the southwest. The country derives its name from the ancient Berber kingdom of Mauretania, which existed from the 3rd century BCE into the 7th century CE in the far north of modern-day Morocco and Algeria. Approximately 90% of Mauritania's land is within the Sahara; consequently, the population is concentrated in the south, where precipitation is slightly higher. The capital and largest city is Nouakchott, located on the Atlantic coast, which is home to around one-third of the country's 4.3 million people . . . . . #travel #mauritania #Sahara #desert #saharadesert #oudane #northafrica #Chinguetti #Nouakchott #Nouadhibou #Atar #IronOre #IronOreTrain #berber #sahel #Maghreb #oasis #IslamicManuscript #Library #Benamera #UNESCO #mosque #ExploreMauritania
